My 6-yr-old Great Pyrenees got her first grooming ever and she came out looking and smelling fabulous. They were sensitive to her nervousness and were able to groom her without needing to resort to a muzzle. She's much more comfortable without all the extra floof (IYKYK). Beats trying to bathe her myself in my claw foot bathtub! Highly recommend.

After I clipped my chow chow's nail too short she was really aggressive when I tried to trim next time. I needed someone to trim them while I earned her trust again. Several places wouldn't take an aggressive chow, but Noel did a great job handling her.

After two serious incidents, we will never ever trust this place with our dog again! During the first incident, while we were overseas, we saw their missed call at around 2am with no voicemail or email. We were extremely frightened, especially since we had previously been told they would only call in the case of a serious emergency involving our dog. I spent that time repeatedly calling them back in distress, but no one answered! 💔 It took nearly an hour to finally reach someone. We later found out they had mishandled our dog’s food storage and we had to urgently purchase new food at our own expense to ensure our dog was fed. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic responsibility in this situation was unacceptable! The second incident was far worse. Just three days into our trip, we received a voicemail saying our 7 lb dog had been involved in a fight. We were initially told that a large dog pinned her down during mealtime. We specifically requested a written explanation of what happened and asked for photos. While they did send photos, they never provided any written explanation. (Not surprised!) Instead, we only received a phone call from a manager, and later, when we picked our dog up, we were given a completely different version of events. The refusal to document the incident in writing, combined with conflicting stories, raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability. After picking our pup up, we discovered bite marks and eye infection following. The fact that dogs of all sizes are mixed together, especially during feeding, shows extremely poor judgment and unsafe handling practices. On a side note, their website/storefront stated we could pick dogs up during break time, but they will charge a fee. We tried to do that once, and the staff showed up rude and fed up insisting us picking up during business hours. Crazy! We are just so incredibly fortunate that our dog is safe, but this experience was completely unacceptable. Between the lack of communication, inconsistent reporting, and questionable safety practices, we strongly advise others to think twice before trusting this facility with their pets!

Just want to mention that my family has used this facility multiple times in last year with excellent service and convenience. Although today not so much. While we were using the drying station there was a VERY INCONSIDERATE customer using the air blower drying station and was drying his VERY VERY long haired white dog with the blower that filled the whole room with his dogs very fine and long hair that was getting all over the other dogs and customers so much so that I had to go home and take a take my clothes off before going in house, wash my clothes independant from a normal load of clothes and take a shower. I have a FRIENDLY BUT FIRM suggestion: That when this type breed as well as similar breeds that very long fine hair be required to be thoroughly brushed prior to using your public facility !! In my humble opinion (Very Rude Customer).

Great at nails, bathing has everything needed.. appointments might be needed as getting much busier.

This is the BEST place ever to bring your dog. We've been taking our Australian cattle dog here for years and have always seen Winston enjoying himself on the doggie cam and when we drop him off and the staff see him they almost always recognize him and greet him with his name and a doggie pat pat on the head. He leaves us gleefully each time, tail wagging as he follows the staff into the inner sanctuary. The staff is just amazing. Haven't met a grumpy member of the team yet- and we've been coming here for years. A true find, for sure!

The groomers are good, but the front office person questions if you have any concerns about pricing. Offputting.

My dog is consistently spoiled and extremely well cared for at Barkzone. I couldn't be more grateful to have a safe space to drop my pup. Not only are the staff reliable and friendly, but they all go above and beyond to make sure our family is cared for.

My cowboy corgi, Ivy Mae, is almost 3yrs old. She has been a regular at the Montavilla BarkZone for the last 2 years. I drop her off approx 8am and pick her up at 4:00 pm, 1-2 x a week. All I have to say is “wanna go to Barkzone?” and she can barely wait to get together with her extended family of staff and other “kids” spending time there. She LOVES BZ and the staff has been exceptionally kind & supportive & because of that, Ivy is people and dog socialized. I’m so glad to have found my way to Barkzone, Maddie and her EXCELLENT staff. Thanks BZ! (She’s the one in the middle of the room on her back)

Everyone at Barkzone are so incredibly kind and our dog LOVES going there! He is spent at the end of the day and we are always confident he had a great day under their care. Hours are super convenient for us too!👏🏼👏🏼

Myra is fantastic. We used to take our dog Dexter there RIP. There is simply no better groomer in Portland or beyond.

They’re always so good about making my dog look perfect. I can always get an appointment and my dog doesn’t mind going in so that’s a good sign! Highly recommend these folks!
