This is the BEST place ever to bring your dog. We've been taking our Australian cattle dog here for years and have always seen Winston enjoying himself on the doggie cam and when we drop him off and the staff see him they almost always recognize him and greet him with his name and a doggie pat pat on the head. He leaves us gleefully each time, tail wagging as he follows the staff into the inner sanctuary. The staff is just amazing. Haven't met a grumpy member of the team yet- and we've been coming here for years. A true find, for sure!

We recently rescued an adorable golden retriever who is a bit nervous & skittish. He had never been professionally groomed before so our dear Alex had her hands full. In her true professional fashion she groomed him with tender loving care & the 2d time he went was great - he went right with her. Thank yiu Alex for always taking such great care of our fur babies. You are the best!

I’m beyond frustrated with the service at this place. The front desk staff is completely unprofessional, and my experience with the groomer was unacceptable. While trying to trim my corgi’s nails, the groomer accidentally shaved a patch of hair off his back. If it had been any deeper, my dog could have been seriously hurt. To make matters worse, the groomer only left a voice message to inform us about the accident. The front desk staff was unapologetic, repeatedly insisting that a $10 discount was sufficient because it’s just a patch of hair that will grow back. I can’t imagine they’d feel the same way if they went for a manicure and ended up with a bald spot—they’d be outraged! They need to seriously reassess their techniques and figure out how to avoid these accidents in the future. This was a terrible experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! Update: The owner reached out to discuss the issues we had with the front desk and the groomer that day. He was understanding and offered us a voucher for a free grooming in the future. We appreciate his attitude and the fact that he values customer satisfaction. We might consider coming back once our dog's fur grows back more.

One time I tried to bathe my Lab on the back deck. One time. That was 7 yrs ago. The self wash tubs are a back saver. Edit 10/2024 Guess you'd better call ahead. Here over an hour before close & got told selfwash are closed early. Rude little goth girl. 5 star to 4.

I boarded my dog for a week when I was on vacation the first week of august. There was a few days where I didn’t see my dog on the puppy cam, when I called, they said everything was fine and he was doing great. When I picked my dog up, he was significantly skinnier and had horrible diarrhea, which Barkzone never called to let me know he was sick. He continued to not eat/have diarrhea for a week after I picked up my dog from Barkzone. I have never had any issues with day care but I will NEVER board my dog here again.

My dog is consistently spoiled and extremely well cared for at Barkzone. I couldn't be more grateful to have a safe space to drop my pup. Not only are the staff reliable and friendly, but they all go above and beyond to make sure our family is cared for.

My cowboy corgi, Ivy Mae, is almost 3yrs old. She has been a regular at the Montavilla BarkZone for the last 2 years. I drop her off approx 8am and pick her up at 4:00 pm, 1-2 x a week. All I have to say is “wanna go to Barkzone?” and she can barely wait to get together with her extended family of staff and other “kids” spending time there. She LOVES BZ and the staff has been exceptionally kind & supportive & because of that, Ivy is people and dog socialized. I’m so glad to have found my way to Barkzone, Maddie and her EXCELLENT staff. Thanks BZ! (She’s the one in the middle of the room on her back)

Everyone at Barkzone are so incredibly kind and our dog LOVES going there! He is spent at the end of the day and we are always confident he had a great day under their care. Hours are super convenient for us too!👏🏼👏🏼

Myra is fantastic. We used to take our dog Dexter there RIP. There is simply no better groomer in Portland or beyond.

They’re always so good about making my dog look perfect. I can always get an appointment and my dog doesn’t mind going in so that’s a good sign! Highly recommend these folks!
