Beaverton Community Transition Program

A thank you to some hoomans!

Since last spring we have been working alongside Beaverton School District's Community Transition Program (C.T.P.). The Beaverton School District's Community Transition Program serves 18-21-year-old special education students in need of comprehensive transition services to develop independence and to contribute to their communities. This program opens up doors to young people and gives them the real world experience as they fulfill positions or network with businesses around town (including the Oregon Food Bank, Nike, and Scoop to name a few). On top of that they even have their own candle and soap making company called Candle Creations!

The C.T.P. has had ongoing success in seeing their students gain employment. Currently, half of all their students are being hired right out of the program (up from twenty percent at earlier stages of the program). This is a talented group of young people who produce quality work. They have been fulfilling monthly orders for us and we could not be happier with the caliber of work year round. They even made us a card that they presented to Eric on his most recent visit!

Thank you to all the young people and teachers involved in this; we appreciate all your hard this passed year and look forward to working together in 2019!

Sincerely,

The BarkZone crew
