A Dog Lover's Wish List

Creative Gift Ideas when you don't know what to get them!

Once Santa has officially put you on the nice list then it is time to make your own. As all your friends and family ask what it is that you want for Christmas anyway it is best to give them a few ideas then to leave it up to chance. Here are a few suggestions for when you have been really nice:

Odor control candles. Your friends will be to nice to imply that your house smells like dog so go ahead and break the ice by adding odor control candles to your list. Available everywhere, this is something your procrastinating present presenter can pick up on the way to the festivities.

Auto grass. If Iggy the Irish setter insists on interrupting your drive time, he may be convinced to stay safely in the back seat with fauz sod. Auto Grass is a $30 console cover that does not feel great to padded paws and may eliminate back seat drivers from becoming front seat pests.

Custom pop art. Pop Your Pup isn't a sweet way to discuss Rover's reprimands. It's a Florida based company that specializes in creating beautiful pop art inspired wrapped canvas and apparel. Now you can wear your dog Warhol style without the $20,000 price tag

Dog themed coffee table book. Forget everything you think you know about wet dogs. Underwater Dogs by Seth Casteel is the perfect table top conversation starter. Available at Barnes and Noble for about $15, it's a steal and will put a smile on your face every time you flip through.

Bark Blend coffee. For the paw-fect way to start your day, let your family and friends treat you to a bag of Bark Blend by Grounds and Hounds Coffee Co. Five percent of each purchase goes directly to animals in need!

Matching pajamas. We don't want to get you too excited but matching dog/human pajamas are something you can buy right now. In November 2017, Today showcased a bunch of new styles perfect for boys and girls of all ages... and species.

Dog safety home improvements. If you really want to keep your pet safe, ask your friends and family to pitch in toward the cost of a full-perimeter fence around your yard. HomeAdvisor estimates that it costs $2,740 nationally to install or build a fence.

Luxury dog bed. Your posh pet deserves sleeping accommodations fit for a canine king. If your budget stops short of "extra bedroom pillow" consider asking for the Enchanted Home Pet Library Sofa. Currently on Amazon for $169, this stylish piece of furniture is ideal for pets up to 75 pounds.

Dog stairs. if your dog is not as nimble as they used to be, a set of dog stairs or ramp will help get them up and down of your bed without displacing a hip. Available in a variety of colors, this is one gift that will make easier on you and your pet.

Gift cards to dog-friendly restaurants. A quick Google search of your area plus "dog-friendly dining" will bring up a host of venues where your pup is welcome. A $25 gift card is the perfect stocking stuffer if you're looking for an afternoon with man's best friend.

A new puppy. While you will want to avoid puppy mills and unethical breeders, there's no shame in directing your gift givers to PetFinder.com to pick out the perfect pup for your ever expanding den.

Dog bowl water bottle. Uncommon Goods is known for having well, uncommon goods. Their selection of pet pride products starts with this $15 dog bowl water bottle. Food safe and free of BPA, you can even share a drink with your furry friend.

As you can see, there is almost no limit to the things you can ask for. While not everyone will want to indulge your undeniable dog adoration, you can still offer options for budgets big and small.
