That’s why we support local animal organizations and pet-related causes often and are always looking for new ways to get involved. Here’s what we’ve been up to lately…
Saturday, May 13th, BarkZone supported the Oregon Humane Society in their largest annual fundraiser, the Doggie Dash. BarkZone sponsored a team of dog handlers and groomers to show support for this great local event by participating in the fun.
Despite the rainy weather, team BarkZone had a blast engaging with the people and pets they serve everyday in the Portland community. Additionally, BarkZone pups turned many heads with their brightly colored fur and fun hair styles. Race spectators were reportedly caught taking photos of our pink pampered pooches.

Each spring, the Doggie Dash is a walk/run held at Waterfront Park in Portland. This May marked the 30th anniversary for this fun event and to date, Doggie Dash has raised over $2.5 million for pets.
It’s not too late to show your support with a donation, donate now.
The event was of course pet-friendly and the funds raised help fight animal cruelty, heal injured pets and find homes for pets with no where else to go. Another great organization that we support, Street Savvy Dog Rescue, helps dogs find foster and forever homes for dogs in need. Check out this non-profit if you or someone you know is looking for a sweet pup to love.
Overall, team BarkZone loved their experience at this year’s Doggie Dash and they are already looking for more ways to stay involved. If you know of any great and local pet events like this one, share it with your BarkZone handler on your next visit.
